Wineries in Southern California
Although Southern California is not synonymous with 'wine country', the first vine was planted in San Diego by Father Junipero Serra in 1769, and the oldest winery in the state resides in the heart of Los Angeles. Today, the inland region of Temecula is the driving force of Southern California's wine production. Most of Temecula's wineries are situated along Rancho California Road. There you will find Callaway, Filsinger, Miramonte and Wilson Creek among others.
