North Orange County Museums

Richard Nixon Presidential Library is located off Imperial Highway near the intersection of Highways 55, 57 and 91 in Yorba Linda. Certainly one of our more controversial Presidents, Nixon was known for his superb, foreign relations with countries like China and Egypt but unfortunately, will always be associated with Watergate. Exhibits include 'Marine One' helicopter, life-size statues of world leaders that Nixon met with, a presidential vehicle, a 12-foot high piece of the Berlin wall, Nixon's birthplace and burial site, and so much more. Learn about Nixon's repeated correspondence with Elvis Presley. The grounds include gardens and a large reflecting pool.

Muckenthaler Cultural Center is located north of the 91 Freeway from Euclid Street. Situated in an historic 1924 home, the Muckenthaler Cultural Center offers exhibitions, performances and educational programs focusing on Orange County. In addition to rotating art exhibits are classes in mediums like paint, ceramics, drawing, photography and more.

Marconi Automotive Museum is located off the 55 Freeway from Edinger Avenue. It features an impressive 30 million dollar collection of historical, exotic and classic cars. Cars on display include top fuel dragster, Ferrari FX, Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Jaguar XJ-220S and many more. The collection include super bikes, Formula 1 & Indy race cars, American muscle cars, vintage racing and high performance exotics.

MUZEO Museum is located off Interstate 5 from Lincoln Avenue. Situated across from the Anaheim City Hall, MUZEO hosts three traveling exhibitions per year. Exhibits feature artistic, cultural, historic and natural relevance. Every exhibit is enhanced with special programs, events and activities.

Stanley Ranch Museum is located north of the 22 freeway in Garden Grove. Stanley Ranch consists of a historic homes, a fire station, lumber building and Walt Disney studio. Most of the buildings have historical significance and were moved to the property from elsewhere. The garage was used as an early studio by Walt Disney when it belonged to his uncle in North Hollywood.

Santa Ana Museums

Heritage Museum is located north of the 405 Freeway from Harbor Boulevard. It's comprised of several historic 1890's structures including the Kellogg House set amid floral gardens, citrus groves and fresh water wetlands. Visitors are welcome to tour the Kellogg House, working blacksmith shop, gardens and nature area.

Old Courthouse Museum is located west of Interstate 5 from Santa Ana Boulevard. Situated in downtown Santa Ana, the Old Courthouse was constructed in 1901 and today displays archives and historical documents.

Discovery Cube Orange County is located at the Main Street exit off Interstate 5 in Santa Ana. Just look for the giant cube on the east side of the freeway. This discovery science center is a hands-on children's museum. Examples of science, geology, physics and much more are explained in over 100 exhibits. Children learn how an airplane flies, what it feels like to be in an 8.0 earthquake, what creates a tornado and much more.

Lyon Air Museum

Lyon Air Museum is located off the 55 freeway from Baker Street. Situated on the backside of the John Wayne Airport, Lyon Air Museum features airplanes, automobiles and memorabilia with a focus on the WWII era. Museum exhibits include a B-17 Flying Fortress, A-26 Invader, 1929 Duesenberg, 1940s Helms Bakery Truck, military vehicles & motorcycles and more.

Bowers Museum

Bowers Museum is located off Interstate 5 between Highways 55 and 22 in Santa Ana. The building itself is historic and resembles many local Spanish Missions. Permanent exhibits focus on the art and artifacts of early Californians and pre-Columbian pieces from Mexico. A multi-million dollar collection of over 1400 plein air paintings are also on display. It features some pretty impressive temporary exhibits so be sure to check what they have on display at your time of visit.

Beach Cities

International Surfing Museum is located off Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from Main Street. Situated just two blocks from the Huntington Beach Pier, it features surfing exhibits from surf films and music to surfboards and memorabilia. Focus on Duke Kahanamoku who won swimming medals in the 1912 and 1920 Olympics and is credited with popularizing surfing world-wide. A rotating exhibit showcases the surfing-themed art of local artists.
