San Bernardino Museums

San Bernardino County Museum is located off Interstate 10 at California Street. Exhibits feature collections in regional cultural and natural history. Special exhibits include the Exploration Station live animal discovery center, research collections and public programs for everyone in the family.

Robert & Francis Fullerton Museum of Art

Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art is located off the 215 freeway from University Parkway. Situated on the Cal State San Bernardino campus, RAFFMA focuses on cultures from around the world. Exhibits include Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Mediterranean Ceramics, Asian Ceramics, African Art, Contemporary Art and several rotating exhibits. Monthly special events include art talks, tours, wine tasting and live music.

San Bernardino Railroad Museum is located off Interstate 215 from 2nd Street. Situated within the 1918 Santa Fe Depot, it focuses on San Bernardino history and all things railroad. Exhibits include railroad inspection vehicles, horse-drawn buggies, model trains, antique clocks and more. The Santa Fe Depot also serves as the local Amtrak station.

Planes of Fame Museum is located between the 60 and 71 freeways off Euclid Avenue. Situated at the Chino Airport, Planes of Fame has collected military aircraft for decades and features hundreds of planes, helicopters and military vehicles on display. Some are fully restored and others are a restoration in progress. Collection includes bi-planes, Russian MIG fighters, WWII fighters & bombers, a Northrop flying wing, Blue Angels plane, A4 fighter jet, Sherman tank and much, much more. Portions of the facility are available for rent and many of the working aircraft can be rented for movies, air shows and other purposes.

Riverside Museums

March Field Aircraft Museum is located off Interstate 215 south of Highway 60 in Riverside. It features an historic collection of warbirds from the SR-71 "Blackbird" to Soviet Migs. Over 3,000 aviation artifacts are on display as well as over 50 planes.

Riverside Metropolitan Museum

Riverside Metropolitan Museum is located off Highway 91 at the University Avenue exit, southwest of Highway 60. They feature artistic works representing cultural and natural history. Emphasis is placed on the preservation of local history. It's situated in a former Post Office building that was constructed in 1912. Closed on Mondays.

Riverside Art Museum is located off Highway 91 southwest of Highway 60 in Riverside. It features rotating exhibits which include paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture and woodworking.

Mission Inn

The Mission Inn Museum is located off the 91 Freeway at the University Avenue exit, southwest of the 60 Freeway. It's situated within the historic Mission Inn in downtown Riverside. Exhibits of architecture, aviation, stained glass and more specifically promote the history of the Mission Inn. The Mission Inn is a privately-owned hotel and National Historic Landmark that was originally built as a small adobe home in the 1870's and evolved into its current mansion-like grandeur.

Sherman Indian Museum is located off Highway 91 between Van Buren and Adams. They feature artifacts and cultural presentations representing American Indians from local and distant regions. Artifacts include basketry, Kachina Dolls, pottery, Navajo rugs, newsletters and more. Cultural presentations include traditional dances and natural remedies from their native plant garden. Visits are by appointment only.

Riverside International Automotive Museum is located near the intersection of the 60, 91 and 215 Freeways. It pays tribute to California's rich motorsports history and the Riverside International Raceway. Exhibits include California racing memorabilia and classic & exotic cars including Maserati, Indy cars, Formula cars, Ferrari and more.

Southern California Medical Museum is located off the 91 Freeway from Central Avenue. This is the only museum in Southern California dedicated to collecting and preserving medical artifacts and the history of medicine throughout the state. Various specialties of medicine include dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and medical. Exhibits include art, instruments, pills, electric shock devices, ether masks, microscopes, tooth extractors and much more.

Perris / Hemet Museums

Orange Empire Railway Museum is located south of Perris off Highway 74 or Interstate 215 from A Street. Situated at a former Sante Fe Railroad train yard, it actively restores railcars, engines and historic train artifacts. Exhibits include a plethora of electric cars, passenger cars, freight cars, a funeral car, steam locomotives and diesel engines, restored and awaiting restoration. Several original train yard structures include a machine shop, wood shop, train stations and loading platforms, turntable and water tank. Train rides are offered on most weekends including a hand car where visitors use man power for locomotion. Some cars are available for event rental. Certification classes are available for those who are serious about learning historic train operation from an Engineer to a Brakeman.

Western Center for Archaeology & Paleontology is located east of Highway 215 near the entrance to Diamond Valley Lake, off Domenigoni Parkway. This museum / research center displays nearly one-million artifacts and fossils found during the excavation of Diamond Valley Lake, Southern California's newest reservoir. View Native American tools and crafts as well as fossils of mammoths, saber-toothed cats, mastodons and more. Some fossils date back to the Ice Age 230,000 years ago. Here you will find the largest mastodon found on Earth and walk on a tempered glass floor that displays a fossil dig beneath. Also included are a gift shop and 270-degree immersion theatre.

Temecula Museums

Pennypickle's Workshop is located off Interstate 15 from Rancho California Road. Situated in Old Town Temecula, Pennypickles Workshop is a children's museum cluttered with hands-on inventions, gadgets, experiments and more. Join a Robot Building Workshop, travel time through the Blacklight Maze Room, become a human kaleidoscope, play a record on the sewing machine and see the peanut butter & jelly sandwich-making machine.
