San Francisco Lakes Overview

San Francisco

San Francisco lakes offer boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, houseboating and other activities. These lakes offer rentals for houseboat, fishing boat, pontoon boats, ski boats, Sea-Doo, Jet Ski, WaveRunner, paddle boat, paddleboard, canoe and kayak. Most have boat launch ramps and marinas that provide fuel, food & drink, cafés, fishing tackle and camping supplies. Several San Francisco lakes offer camping. Among those to choose from are Berryessa, Chabot, Del Valle, San Pablo Reservoir, Los Vaqueros Reservoir and several more. San Francisco Lakes

Lake Berryessa is located north of Napa Valley off Highway 128. Berryessa is over 20-miles long and offers 165 miles of shoreline with activities like boating, water-skiing, houseboating, fishing, camping and picnicking. Amenities include cabins, campgrounds, marinas, general stores, picnic areas and boat launch ramps. Boat rentals include houseboat, fishing boat, ski boat, Jet Ski, pontoon boats, kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Berryessa supports fish species like rainbow trout, brown trout, steelhead, chinook salmon, kokanee salmon, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, white catfish, channel catfish, green sunfish, bluegill, squawfish and carp.

Lake Hennessey is located off Highway 128 just outside of Rutherford. Hennessey is approximately 3-miles long and 1-mile wide. Activities include boating and fishing. Amenities include a boat launch ramp and restrooms. No swimming or human contact with the water is allowed. Hennessey supports fish species like rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie and catfish.

San Pablo Reservoir is located off Interstate 80 east of Richmond. San Pablo is over 4-miles long and a ½-mile wide. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking. Amenities include a visitor center, café, bait shop, picnic areas and boat launch ramp. Boat rentals include fishing boat, row boat, patio boats, pontoon boats, paddle boat and kayak. Shadow Cliffs is located east of Pleasanton. Shadow Cliffs is a former rock quarry turned small lake. Activities include boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking.
