Gold Country

Gold Country lakes offer boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, houseboating and other activities. These lakes offer rentals for houseboat, fishing boat, pontoon boats, ski boats, Sea-Doo, Jet Ski, WaveRunner, paddle boat, paddleboard, canoe and kayak. Most have boat launch ramps and marinas that provide fuel, food & drink, cafés, fishing tackle and camping supplies. Several Gold Country lakes offer camping and some even include boat-in camping. Among those to choose from are Folsom, Collins and Amador in northern Gold Country or New Melones, Don Pedro and McClure to the south. Gold Country Lakes

Bullards Bar Reservoir is located off Highway 49 north of Grass Valley & Nevada City. Bullards Bar is over 16-miles long and has more than 56 miles of shoreline. It's popular for camping, fishing, boating, water-skiing, swimming, sunbathing and hiking. Amenities include a marina and general store. The marina rents ski boats, patio boats, pontoon boats, Jet Ski and houseboats. Bullards Bar Reservoir supports fish species like kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and spotted bass.

Scotts Flat Lake is located north of Nevada City off Highway 20. Scotts Flat is 2-miles long with activities like boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, camping and picnicking. Amenities include a campground, marina and boat launch ramp. Boat rentals are available at the marina. Scotts Flat supports fish species like small-mouth bass, large-mouth bass, rainbow trout, brown trout and kokanee salmon.

Collins Lake is located northeast of Yuba City off Marysville Road from Highway 20. Collins is 2-miles long with activities like boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and picnicking. Amenities include a campground, swimming beach, picnic grounds and marina. Boat rentals available at the marina include pontoon boats, fishing boat, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards (SUP) and paddle boats. Collins supports fish species like bass, rainbow trout, crappie, bluegill and catfish.

Englebright Lake is located off Highway 20 east of Yuba City/Marysville. Englebright is over 10-miles long and less than a ½-mile wide. Activities include camping, fishing, houseboating, boating, water-skiing and swimming. Amenities include boat-in campgrounds, a marina, general store, laundry room, showers and boat launch ramps. Boat rentals include fishing boats, houseboats, party boats, ski boats, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats. Englebright supports fish species like rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, kokanee salmon, redear sunfish, bluegill and catfish.

Folsom Lake is located east of Sacramento between Interstate 80 and Highway 50. Folsom is 12-miles long with activities like boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. Amenities include campgrounds, picnic areas, boat launch ramps and a marina. Boat rentals are available at several concessions and include fishing boat, Sea-Doo, Jet Ski, pontoon boats, sailboats, canoe and kayak. Jenkinson Lake is located east of Placerville off Highway 50. Also known as Sly Park Lake, Jenkinson is 2-miles long with activities like boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, , picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. Amenities include campgrounds and picnic areas. Boat rentals are seasonal and include pontoon boats, kayak, stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and paddle boats. Jenkinson supports fish species like mackinaw, brown trout, rainbow trout and large mouth bass.

New Melones Lake is located south of Angels Camp and west of Jamestown off Highway 49. New Melones is nearly 20-miles long and offers 100 miles of shoreline with activities like boating, water-skiing, houseboating and fishing. Amenities include campgrounds, marinas, general stores and picnic areas. Boat rentals include houseboats, fishing boats, ski boats, Waverunners and pontoon boats. Lake Don Pedro is located west of Moccasin and Coulterville off Highway 49. Don Pedro is close to 20-miles long and offers nearly 160 miles of shoreline with activities like boating, water-skiing, houseboating and fishing. Lake McClure is located west of Coulterville and Mariposa off Highway 49. McClure is 26-miles long and offers 80 miles of shoreline with activities like boating, water-skiing, swimming houseboating, picnicking and fishing. Amenities include campgrounds, marinas, general stores and picnic areas. Boat rentals include houseboats, fishing boat, ski boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, paddle boats, stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and ski equipment. McClure supports fish species like rainbow trout, black bass, spotted bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, salmon and shad. Barrett Cove Marina and McClure Point Marina are both located off Lake Merced Road on the west side of the lake. Lake McSwain is further south of the McClure Dam and offers many of the same activities but on a much smaller body of water.
