L.A. kayak, canoe and (SUP) stand-up paddleboard rentals are available at harbors, beaches and lakes in the region. Many rental shops also offer tours and lessons to learn how to kayak. From the open ocean to calm harbors and secluded lakes we've found the perfect places to kayak in L.A.. These water sports are easy, fun and require little experience, making them the perfect summertime activity. Rent a paddleboard and cruise along the Malibu coast past Billionaires Beach and the Malibu pier. Paddle to a campground on Catalina Island where there are several boat-in campsites.

Malibu

Inland Regions

Pyramid Lake is located off Interstate 5 north of Castaic. Pyramid Lake is situated at the peak of the Grapevine in the Los Padres National Forest. Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area is located off Interstates 10, 210 and 605 approximately 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. Situated at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Fe Dam offers a small lake at less than one mile in length. Activities include fishing, swimming and picnicking.
