4th of July Overview
The 4th of July is Independence Day in the U.S.A. and a National Holiday. It commemorates our independence from England and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Residents display flags on the 4th of July to show their respect for the many who died during our struggle to be an independent nation and to declare allegiance to the union. The fireworks represent the 'Bombs Bursting in Air' as stated in our National Anthem. Celebrations take place all over California that include fireworks, concerts, carnivals, parades, barbecues and more. We've listed all of the locations in Los Angeles where a Fourth of July fireworks show can be viewed.* We do not list 4th of July celebrations that don't include professional fireworks.
TIP: Checkout the Pleasant Hill 4th of July Fireworks page for great advice on how to capture the perfect fireworks shot.
* We make no guarantees that fireworks will be on display at these locations, days or times. This list is based upon past years events and shows often get canceled due to lack of funding.
