Pacific Park is a Los Angeles boardwalk found at the end of Interstate 10 on the Santa Monica Pier. This L.A. amusement park is a mix of carnival games, carnival rides, ferrous wheel, roller coaster and rides. The pier was originally built in 1909 by Charles Looff, the builder of Coney Island's first carousel. He saw the potential in rides and attractions on the Santa Monica Pier and built the Looff Pleasure Pier. The pier suffered damage over the years and was eventually scheduled for demolition. Citizens fought to preserve it as an historic landmark and by the 1980's it was restored to its former glory. Today, it's one of many fun things to do in L.A.
