Orange County Zoos & Aquariums BACK TO TOP
Orange County Zoo is located in the back of Irvine Regional Park off the Jamboree exit off interstate 5 in Irvine. This is a very small city zoo with mostly local animals including bears, coyotes, mule deer and owls. The park it is located in offers much entertainment for youngsters with a train ride, donkey rides, pedal boat and bike rentals, softball fields, bike trails, mountain biking and picnicking.

Zoomars Petting Zoo is located off interstate 5 at Highway 74 (Ortega Highway). This is a small-scale petting zoo situated in the historic Los Rios District of San Juan Capistrano. Ocean Institute of Dana Point is located in the Dana Point Harbor near PCH (highway 1 - Pacific Coast Highway). This is a small educational aquarium with exhibits of local species. Tidepool exploration is within steps of the aquarium. A tallship is usually moored at the dock.
TIP: The Dana Point Tallships Festival takes place in September. You can book excursions on these ships through the aquarium website.
