The Shasta Cascade features two wine producing regions, the Sierra foothills outside of Chico and the hills surrounding Clear Lake in the Mendocino National Forest. The Lake County wineries are quickly gaining notarity as some of the best wine producers in the state. Notable names include Ceágo, Steele, Wildhurst and Guenoc. A few of the wineries are accessible by boat or seaplane via Clear Lake. The entrance to Ceágo Vinegarden begins in a field of lavender.
