Murphys Historic Hotel - Murphys is located off Highway 4 just a short distance northeast of Angels Camp and Highway 49. They offer 9 guest rooms in their Landmark two-story hotel. The hotel and guestrooms are decorated in period antiques and were once by notable figures like Mark Twain, Black Bart and Ulysses S. Grant. The upstairs rooms are kept authentic and do not have telephones, televisions, alarm clocks or coffee makers. Central bathrooms are located in the hall. A popular restaurant and authentic bar are situated in the lower portion of the hotel. Ask the bartender to show you the bullet holes from the Wild West era.
