Horseback Riding in California

Rocky Mountain Trail

Horseback Riding Overview

Horseback riding is a great way to get outdoors and explore backcountry regions without hassling with backpacks and uncomfortable hiking boots. Horses can cover great distances in much less time than hiking. Generally, guided groups head for the most breathtaking lookout points and other points of interest that the region has to offer. Most of the stables in California offer trips from one to two hours and provide helmets for rider safety. Although any equestrian riding can be unpredictable, the horses are generally of calm temperament and disposition making them easy even for inexperienced children to ride. Click on a region below to find stables that offer horseback riding trips for your enjoyment.
