High Sierra Hikes Overview

High Sierras

On this page you'll find great hiking trails from Lake Tahoe down Highway 395 all the way to Lone Pine. Whether you're looking to find secluded Alpine lakes, hidden waterfalls or just stroll a paved nature trail on a summer afternoon, this page has what you're looking for. We list long-distance hikes that include portions of the Pacific Crest Trail, which extands from Canada to Mexico as it follows the ridgeline of the Sierras. Or chose a short paved route that offers wheelchair accessibility to some of Yosemite's waterfalls or Lake Tahoe rivers and shoreline. We leave no excuse not to get off the main road to explore California's wilderness trails. All distances are one-way only.
