Central Coast

Bonfante Gardens is located off Highway 152 just a short distance east of Highway 101 in Gilroy. Bonfante is combination gardens and amusement park with rides suited for young children. Rides include the Timber Twister Roller Coaster, Splash & Squirt, Redwood Junction Railroad, Tubs-O-Fun and more. The gardens are intermingled throughout the park and include a topiary garden of conifers, colorful of topiaries and annuals that can be viewed on the Rainbow Garden Boat Ride, tropical gardens and more. One of the most interesting aspects of the park is the Tree Circus consisting of several uniquely, if not strangely, grafted trees that form baskets, arches and many other shapes that were in the imagination of Axel Erlandson back in the 1920's.
