High Sierra Activities

High Sierra Activities Overview

High Sierras

In the California High Sierras there are an abundance of activities ranging from snow skiing one of dozens of resorts to dinner cruises on Lake Tahoe. Hit the trail on a mountain bike, rent a boat for fishing or soar hundreds of feet in a hot air balloon. Three of the most popular regions of the High Sierras include Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Mammoth Lakes. Whether it be a backwoods adventure or leisure time on a recreational lake, the High Sierras has plenty to offer.

Hot Air Ballooning - Lake Tahoe over Lake Tahoe or the Carson Valley. Flights over Lake Tahoe actually depart from and land on a specially modified boat. The 'Tahoe Flyer' is the only boat of its kind and functions like a mini-aircraft carrier. Enjoy a breakfast on the lower deck as you are transported to an upwind launch site on the lake. Flights are approximately 1-hour and end with a champagne toast. Tahoe Flyer departs from the Tahoe Keys Marina at the intersection of Highways 50 & 89 in South Lake Tahoe.
